If you have never heard the name of Mian Amir Mehmood, you must have known Punjab Group of Colleges, University of Central Punjab and Dunya News channel. Mian Amir Mehmood is the owner person of all these.
Moving ahead from media and educational business, he is now planning to start his own airlines with name of Liberty Airlines.
The date of launch of this airlines is still kept hidden however, it is said that all the necessary approvals from Civil Aviation Authority (CIA) and government officials have been taken. Mr. Irfan Elahi has been appointed as a consultation head of this airline who previously resigned from the chairmanship of PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) in March 2018. He has also served as Federal Secretary Aviation Division in past.
Mr. Irfan Elahi has confirmed the news that Liberty Airline is owned by Mian Amir Mehmood and going to start its operations soon.
It is not the first private airline to operate in Pakistan. Previously, we have Air Blue (the Pakistan biggest private airlines) and Serene Air operating in Pakistan.
Also, Shaheen Air International from private sector has been grounded due to financial crisis being faced by this airline. Shaheen Air was previously owned by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and was later sold out to Mr. Khalid Sehbai who is a famous businessman.
It is also to be noted that previously Bhoja Air and Hajvery Airlines have also operated for some time in Pakistan airspace. Bhoja Air stopped its operations in Pakistan after a deadly air crash whereas Hajvery Airlines faced the same issue as of Shaheen Air and discontinued after a financial crisis.
Mian Amir Mehmood along with his team is confident to give tough competition to Air Blue and Serene Air and provide excellent experience to its customers with this new Liberty Airline.
