Regal Automobile (DFSK) is gearing up to introduce the locally assembled SERES 3 Electric Vehicle (EV) in Pakistan, as the country’s interest in electric cars grows due to rising fuel costs. Here are the key details:
- Regal Motors will offer both Completely Knocked Down (CKD) and Completely Built Up (CBU) units of the SERES 3 EV. Each will come with a different price tag.
- The SERES 3 CBU variant will be available at a price of Rs. 11,799,000, with a booking cost of Rs. 5,000,000. Customers can expect delivery within three months.
- The locally assembled SERES 3 will be priced at Rs. 9,599,000, with a booking fee of Rs. 3,000,000. The expected delivery date for this variant is March 2024.
Recently, Regal Motors offered test drives of the SERES 3, and one test driver described it as an “economical, soundless, and environmentally friendly car with the thrill of enjoying instant torque.” The EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9 seconds.
Manufacturers claim an impressive 400 km range under ideal conditions with a fully charged 50 kWh battery. Notably, the test driver mentioned that the SERES 3 could be fully charged at home, starting from 30% battery, by 6 AM after being plugged in at 11 PM the previous night. This convenience eliminates the need to search for a charging station, especially for those living in urban areas.
While the specific launch date in Pakistan remains unclear, it was initially scheduled for a mid-October release in September. With the increasing focus on electric vehicles, the arrival of the SERES 3 is anticipated to make a significant impact on the Pakistani automotive market, offering a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional combustion engine vehicles.
